Enabling MusicCast within Home Assistant is quite easy to do. once you have you devices added here are a few ideas for the use of home automation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you begin I would suggest you follow our guide for assigning static IPs to MusicCast devices. As well as being good practice this will reduce the likelihood of failures or complication further down the line. If you already used <a href=\"https:\/\/rapidlydigital.com\/how-to-add-static-ip-addresses-to-yamaha-musiccast-speakers-av-receivers-and-sound-bars\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"2858\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">our guide<\/a> to set static IPs for your devices you will most likely have your IP addresses to hand. <\/p>\n<p>If you do not have the IP addresses noted down simply:<\/p>\n<p>Open the official Yamaha MusicCast app on your smartphone.<\/p>\n<p>Click Settings.<\/p>\n<p>Choose the device you wish to get the IP address for.<\/p>\n<p>Scroll down to until you see the &#8216;information&#8217;. Click this.<\/p>\n<p>As shown in the image you will see the IP address. MusicCast device you wish to add. I have used 192.168.0.184 for demonstration purposes but yours will likely be different. <\/p>\n<p>Click Submit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"howto-step-1673883804745\" class=\"rank-math-step\">\n<h3 class=\"rank-math-step-title \"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Repeat_for_additional_devices\"><\/span>Repeat for additional devices<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<div class=\"rank-math-step-content \"><p>You will need to repeat this process for all your MusicCast devices. but as you can see, the process is simple &#8211; so it should not take too long.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>So now you will have all your MusicCast devices available to Home Assistant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have found this integration extremely useful to automate my home entertainment. especially when coupled with Alexa voice commands. As a recap Alexa Voice commands can be enabled quite easily if you have a Samsung Smartthings Hub. Simply create virtual switches within Smartthings to enable automations.
